The child’s ears will be the problem. She/he may have trouble with the change in air pressure. This can be very painful and can damage the ear drums.

How does travelling faster than the speed of light mean time travel?

I do a lot of physics, but I have never been able to understand it. How could it mean time travel?

Thanks.

Look up into the sky. Do you see the light from the Sun? That didn’t get from the Sun to your eye instantly: it took 8 minutes. If you look at Alpha Centauri, that light didn’t get here instantly either – it took more than four years to get here.
In other words, if Alpha Centauri was to explode tomorrow, you wouldn’t know about it for four years, since the light from the explosion would take that long to get here.
But just say a traveller left Alpha Centauri a day after it exploded, on board a ship that could travel at twice the speed of light. He would arrive here in two years, and tell you “In two years Alpha Centauri will explode.” Isn’t that time travel?

Q&A: Can I travel to Fiji if my passport is only valid for another 5 months?

-

Question by : Can I travel to Fiji if my passport is only valid for another 5 months?
I’ve read that you need only a 3 month valid passport, but other websites say 4 months . Some of them have stated you definitely cannot travel without 6 month validity and will be refused entry. Has anyone traveled to Fiji with a passport that was valid for less that 6 months? Did you encounter any problems? I am planning to go for just a week.

Q&A: How a travel portal is created? What can be the cost of creating a travel portal?

-

Question by hameedha: How a travel portal is created? What can be the cost of creating a travel portal?
A travel portal needs a website but how the airlines, hotels, cruises, buses, rails are linked. Is it GDS or linking of individual airlines websites, etc. I need more information on this

Answer by Sawadee Krub
They are linked through affiliate links. You go to the websites and sign up to become an affiliate. Lets pretend you want to make links on your website to travelocity flights for airlines….so you go to travelocity.com and look at the bottom of the website. You will see the words “affiliate program” in small letters. Like this: http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w106/JordanPar23/travelocity.png
Click on that to sign up. Once you sign up, travelocity would give you links for whatever flights you need links for. They may even have links that self update if you want a website that updates itself. So if you want to promote hotels, find a hotel affiliate…check hotel.com…look at the bottom of their page for the words “affiliate” and sign up with them if you want to promote hotels….this is how you do it. Just sign up for affiliates, choose what you want to link to, get the links, and put the links on your site. Then you have to log in to the seperate websites to see how much money you are making. If you sign up for travelocity and hotels.com for example, you will have to sign in to both of them to see how much you have made for each.

Does anyone have any travel tips for a long trip through Europe?

-

Question by ~~~KC~~~: Does anyone have any travel tips for a long trip through Europe?
I am currently in University, but I am thinking of taking a semester off to travel for 3-4 months. I would like to go to Europe and/or Africa, but I have no one to go with. I would like to travel with a group, or something, but I’m open to other ideas. I don’t really know where to start with this though, is there any good group travel programs, or does any one have any tips on what I should know, or where to start when planning my trip? Anything would be helpful, thanks!

Answer by The Student Traveler
Since you are going alone I would definitely recommend going with a group, or at least meeting up with one halfway through. While they are more expensive, you’ll find that traveling by yourself can sometimes get lonely, and it’ll be nice to share your world experiences with someone. Different tours vary on length, age range, activity level, and price, so you can definitely find something that fits.

As for where to start I would definitely recommend starting by planning a budget (for a more in depth look at budgets, check out my blog entry http://europeforstudents.blogspot.com/2011/11/frequently-asked-question-how-much.html). There are so many tips that will make your travelling easier, so without making this too long, I’d suggest checking out my blog http://europeforstudents.blogspot.com. All of it comes from personal experience travelling abroad so it should be very helpful.

Happy Travels!
